Music is about explode at Glenbrook! We have many new and exciting opportunities happening in music commencing in week 4.
Junior Band and Ensemble Group
We have had over 40 students from years 3-6 sign up to our new instrumental program. These students will be learning how to play their chosen instrument; the flute, the trumpet, the trombone, the clarinet, percussion instruments, and the drums!
These students are training to be in our junior band. We are still welcoming students to this program so if your child is Interested, please complete an expression of interest, found on our school website. Band tuition will be two mornings a week before school in the stage 3 classrooms.
For students who already have experience in a band instrument and are learning outside of school, we have our Ensemble group ready to go as well.
Our Ukulele Group
‘The Glenukes’ will be on Wednesdays at lunch. We have a great program ready to go. Again, we invite anyone from Years 3 – 6 to join. Existing and new members welcome! We have a number of ukuleles available to use at school but if you have your own. Bring it along!
Choir
It is super exciting to be able to start thinking about singing again! Last year we had a wonderful signing choir where our students learned to sing using Auslan Keyword sign. This year, we are preparing for when we can sing in a group again. Choir will be on Thursdays at lunch and any students from years 3-6 are welcome to join.
We are also preparing again for PULSE Choir. This is an exciting opportunity for students in years 5 & 6 to join the massed school choir at a combined school’s concert at the Opera House.
Whilst there are still covid restrictions around instrumental music and singing, all our musical activities will be conducted in accordance with these guidelines.
